AI and Analytics Intern – Efficiency Projects (10-Week Contract)

Zayo is seeking a highly motivated Intern – AI and Analytics to join our team in Denver, CO. This role is focused on driving efficiency by automating manual tasks that exist outside of our core ERP systems (Workday and SFDC). You will play a crucial role in improving workflows, standardizing processes, and implementing innovative solutions to significantly enhance organizational productivity. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about process optimization, automation, and cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, you will contribute to building a financially-driven project prioritization process.

Pay Rate: $20 – $22 USD/hour

Location: Denver, CO

Estimated Length of Contract: 10 weeks (June 1 – August 7)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Analysis: Meticulously analyze current manual workflows across departments to identify critical inefficiencies and areas ripe for automation.
  • Automation Solution Development: Design, develop, and implement practical automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, including:
    • Standardizing candidate questions and scorecards within Workday.
    • Automating other pre-identified repetitive manual functions that will be designated as summer projects.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to gather comprehensive requirements, co-design effective solutions, and ensure all efforts align with overarching organizational goals.
  • Documentation & Training: Create thorough documentation for all automated workflows, encompassing detailed process maps, intuitive user guides, and essential training materials.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of automated processes to ensure optimal functionality, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling project updates and final outcome presentations to key stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship period.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have completed your sophomore year by the start of the internship.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree or certificate-seeking program for the fall semester of 2026.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Management, Business Analytics, Business Operations, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel is required; familiarity with automation tools (e.g., RPA software) is a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of engaging clearly and professionally with team members across various departments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience or coursework in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with AI tools and concepts.
  • Experience or coursework in business management or financial modeling.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance and 401(k).

The posting will be active for a minimum of 3 days. The active posting will continue to extend by 3 days until the position is filled.
