Job Description:
This is an Intern position (Engineer Associate Intern) at Graphic Packaging International in Visalia, CA. The primary mission is to execute process improvement tasks and projects to reduce unscheduled downtime, increase asset life, and improve safety, quality, and plant performance. The intern will support the facility’s capital budget, develop capital requests, manage construction projects, and contribute to cost savings initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the facility capital budget.
• Developing capital requests, RFPs, and managing vendors.
• Finding solutions through teamwork.
• Developing spending forecasts.
• Discussing and laying out project specifications.
• Making detailed plans to accomplish goals.
• Reviewing product designs.
• Preparing budgets, bids, and contracts.
• Approving expenditures.
• Developing cost estimates.
• Drafting proposals and reports for upper management.
• Checking technical accuracy of work.
• Improving production and maintenance processes.
• Completing root cause failure analysis.
• Identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives.
• Implementing and sharing best practices.
• Contributing to a safe work environment.
