Integration & Test Intern Fall 2026 | Rocket Lab
The Tone:
This is an internship at Rocket Lab, located in Long Beach, CA. Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company that designs, builds, and launches rockets and satellites for scientific exploration, Earth observation, national security, and technology demonstrations. This role supports the Space Systems Integration and Test Team by contributing to the improvement of unique integration and test equipment. The intern’s work directly impacts the spacecraft Assembly Integration & Test (AIT) phase, helping deliver flight spacecraft that operate successfully for their mission. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support the Space Systems Integration and Test Team’s unique integration and test equipment.
• Improve: Contribute to improvements that directly impact the spacecraft Assembly Integration & Test (AIT) phase.
• Apply: Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real-world challenges within a professional team.
• Develop: Grow technical and professional skills by working closely with mentors and employees.
• Communicate: Attend regular 1:1 meetings with mentors and supervisors to provide updates and facilitate learning.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics, or math discipline, with at least one semester of school remaining post-internship.
• Experience: At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, which can include internships, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Skills: Demonstrated academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Bonus:
• A GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Over 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• General understanding of radio frequency and electronic components, such as capacitors, inductors, and transformers.
• Practical experience with hardware or test equipment.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Siemens NX.
• Familiarity with JavaScript.
• Knowledge of spacecraft design principles.
