Elementary Math Coach | Lexington County School District One

This role is crucial for enhancing teacher effectiveness and student outcomes by providing specialized professional development in instructional strategies and curriculum design.

• Mission: This role solves the problem of ensuring teachers and administrators have increased content knowledge and pedagogical strategies to build capacity within school faculties.
• Tech Stack: Personal computing devices, word processing software, e-mail software, spreadsheet software, electronic file management, internet, reporting software, presentation software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coach: Coaches teachers in concepts and skills related to lesson design, instructional strategies, and assessment.
• Develop: Assists teachers in designing and implementing curriculum units based on state standards.
• Support: Provides ongoing site-based professional learning and model lessons to staff.
• Evaluate: Conducts classroom observations, provides feedback, and analyzes assessment data to inform instructional strategies.
• Coordinate: Coordinates services for students who are in multiple tiers for intervention and classroom instruction.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in a related area of discipline.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership in curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
• Skills: Valid SC Teaching License, operating general office and technology equipment, designing engaging learning experiences, analyzing assessment data to close learning gaps, effective use of personal computing devices and software applications.
