Job Description:
This is a general application for the Information Technology (IT) Intern Program at Abbott. This program is a summer twelve-week assignment designed to recruit future leaders in IT. IT Interns will be aligned to summer assignments that are in key areas of IT, taking the IT Intern’s interests, talents and development needs into consideration to support the best fit. Work assignments may be located at Abbott’s Corporate Headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois, or one of Abbott’s many domestic locations in the United States. Successful candidates must be willing to relocate during the assignment period.
Key aspects of the program:
• Twelve-week summer internship: Provides hands-on experience in a corporate IT environment.
• Focus on future IT leaders: Aims to identify and develop individuals with the potential to lead in the IT field.
• Assignment matching: Attempts to align interns with projects that match their interests and skills.
• Potential for full-time employment: The program is designed to recruit people who will work for Abbott following their graduation. Candidates must have work authorization on a long-term basis that will allow them to work for Abbott without sponsorship after they’ve completed their education.
• Location: Positions may be located at Abbott’s Corporate Headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois (40 miles North of Chicago), or one of Abbott’s many domestic locations in the United States. Relocation may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Interested in pursuing a career in the IT field.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (Sophomore or Junior Status) or Master’s degree in an IT-related discipline.
• Returning to school following the internship assignment.
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.
• Permanent unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
