Legal Intern | Zealot
The Tone:
This is a paid, on-site internship at Zealot, located in New York City. Zealot builds AI systems that find zero-days, emulate target devices, and develop working exploits for U.S. defense and intelligence customers, backed by tier-1 U.S. venture firms. This role offers the opportunity to build real immigration-law experience within a frontier AI and cybersecurity startup, with visa and immigration work being a central part of the internship, not an occasional side project.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Visa Matters: Support employment-based visa and immigration matters under the supervision of Zealot’s legal team and external counsel.
• Prepare Case Files: Help prepare and organize visa case files, evidence packets, forms, supporting letters, and internal case summaries.
• Coordinate Documentation: Coordinate document collection and intake with candidates, employees, founders, and counsel.
• Track Requirements: Track filing requirements, deadlines, case status, and follow-ups with exceptional accuracy.
• Conduct Research: Research visa-specific legal and procedural questions and turn findings into clear, practical written work.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently completing a law degree or in the final stage of legal studies, with substantive exposure to U.S. immigration law specifically involving visas.
• Experience: Prior study or work on immigration law involving visas through a course, clinic, externship, internship, or legal-assistant role. Must be able to describe a specific visa matter, assignment, or case workflow supported and explain personal contribution.
• Skills: Excellent legal research, writing, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with maturity and sound judgment. Comfort moving quickly, taking ownership, and learning in a startup environment.
