ANSI coordinates the development and use of voluntary consensus standards in the United States, representing U.S. stakeholders in standardization forums worldwide. The organization oversees the creation and application of thousands of international norms and guidelines that impact businesses across diverse sectors, from construction and energy to agriculture and technology. Through its accreditation board, ANAB, ANSI also accredits programs that assess conformance to widely adopted management system standards. This role is crucial for managing day-to-day HR operations, supporting a distributed workforce, and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture within a mission-driven organization dedicated to quality, safety, and efficiency in global commerce and industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Manage the day-to-day HR operations to effectively support a distributed workforce within a standards-focused and mission-driven environment.
• Oversee: Oversee all employee lifecycle processes, including comprehensive recruitment, structured onboarding, ongoing performance management, and smooth offboarding procedures, while also maintaining accurate HR records and supporting policy compliance.
• Advise: Advise leaders and team members on HR policies, employee relations matters, and best practices to foster an inclusive and high-performance culture.
• Administer: Coordinate benefits and leave administration, as well as support various training and development initiatives for staff.
• Partner: Partner with management on strategic workforce planning and organizational changes to ensure HR initiatives align with company goals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in human resources management.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in strong human resources management, encompassing employee relations, performance management, and policy administration. Proven experience in recruitment and talent acquisition, including sourcing, interviewing, and selection processes.
• Skills: Proficient in HR compliance and record-keeping, with familiarity in employment laws and documentation standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with remote teams and stakeholders at all levels, coupled with strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a part-time remote setting. Comfort working independently with digital HR systems and tools.
• Bonus: Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR. Experience working within standards, accreditation, or non-profit organizations is beneficial. A clear commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices.
