Human Resources Intern | Children’s Museum Houston
The Tone:
This is a temporary paid internship at Children’s Museum Houston, located in Houston, TX. Children’s Museum Houston is dedicated to transforming communities through innovative, child-centered learning, aiming to improve the trajectories of all children in Greater Houston. Consistently rated as one of the top children’s museums in the nation, the museum has supported student achievement and empowered parents for over four decades, igniting a lifelong love of learning. We serve more than 900,000 participants annually across the main Museum, the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center, and 270+ outreach locations with 13 exhibits, a performing arts series, cultural programming, science activities, and weekly Free Family Nights. This Human Resources Intern role is vital for supporting the HR department’s records management and digital file organization initiatives, directly contributing to the efficiency and integrity of the museum’s HR operations and confidential data handling.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Scan Documentation: Scan and upload employee documentation into the organization’s digital HR system.
• Organize Records: Organize and maintain electronic personnel records, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
• Ensure Completeness: Review files for completeness and assist in identifying any missing documentation.
• Support Records Management: Assist with records retention and file organization practices within the department.
• Uphold Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality for all sensitive employee information and adhere to organizational policies regarding privacy, data handling, and recordkeeping.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a Human Resources, Business Administration, or related degree program, or a recent graduate.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest in gaining hands-on experience in HR operations and confidential records management.
• Skills: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, a high level of professionalism, and strong attention to detail.
• Bonus: Interest in Human Resources operations or compliance; previous administrative or office experience; familiarity with digital filing systems or document management processes.
