Job Description: Human Resources Intern

Primary Purpose:
As a Human Resources Intern at Mountaire Farms, the primary purpose is to gain hands-on experience streamlining SOP Compliance across facilities. This project offers practical exposure to HR operations and aims to make meaningful contributions by improving the consistency, accessibility, and audit-readiness of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the Millsboro & Selbyville locations. This will involve updating formats and verifying shared sites.

Project Highlights:
The internship project includes several key initiatives:
Standardize SOP Formats: Create a unified template for all SOPs used in HR to ensure clarity and consistency across different locations.
Audit SOP Accessibility: Verify that all SOP links are functional and accessible via shared drives or internal portals, ensuring ease of access for relevant personnel.
Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Pinpoint areas where processes can be improved and standardized to streamline operations in both plants.
Document and Analyze Current SOPs: Thoroughly document existing SOPs and analyze their effectiveness and consistency across facilities to identify gaps and areas for enhancement.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university.
• Possess a valid Driver’s license.
• Must successfully pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with managers.
• Exhibit active listening skills.
• Possess analytical thinking skills.
• Be proficient in gathering and interpreting SOPs to ensure alignment and accuracy.

Internship Program Requirements:
Participants in the internship program are expected to fulfill specific requirements:
Complete assigned project identified by a department mentor.
Attend weekly seminar series held across different Mountaire facilities.
• Be prepared for other duties as assigned.
• All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program (August 3 to 7, 2026) for final presentations.
• Required to complete a 10-minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of the summer.
• Presentations will take place in Millsboro, DE at the Administrative Building during the week of August 3rd-7th.
• The anticipated weekly schedule for this internship is 8 am – 5 pm.
