Human Resources Business Partner, Emerging Talent Intern (Fall) | Metropolitan Transportation Authority

The Tone:
This is an internship at Metropolitan Transportation Authority, located in Brooklyn, NY. This role is crucial for supporting the Human Resources Business Partner team by providing hands-on experience in HR operations, workforce data analysis, and employee engagement initiatives. You will contribute to implementing People (HR) strategies and day-to-day HR solutions that impact the entire organization.

• Team: Human Resource Business Partner team supporting NYC Transit Buses and MTA Bus Company
• Mission: To support the implementation of People (HR) strategies, talent management programs, and day-to-day HR solutions through direct assistance and project contributions.
• Tech Stack: ServiceNow, Microsoft Office Suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Onboarding: Process candidate documentation and assist in onboarding activities.
• Compliance: Support HRBPs in reviewing work authorization documents and maintaining accurate trackers for expiration dates.
• Engagement: Contribute to HR projects focused on employee engagement, culture, and communication.
• Data Management: Help maintain HR databases and files with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Analysis & Support: Support the analysis of employee data to identify workforce trends and provide administrative assistance for ongoing HR initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA, majoring in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Project Management, Data Analytics/Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skills: Organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively; keen eye for detail and ability to work independently while being an active team player; enthusiasm for learning and applying HR practices; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
