HRIS Intern-Corporate | Albany International Corp.

The Tone:
This is an internship at Albany International Corp., likely located in Portsmouth, NH. Albany International Corp. is a global company specializing in advanced textiles and materials processing. Its two core businesses include Machine Clothing, a leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts for paper, nonwovens, and other process industries, and Albany Engineered Composites (AEC), a growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry. This role is crucial for supporting key HR technology initiatives, specifically focusing on the implementation and optimization of SAP SuccessFactors modules for Compensation, Onboarding, and Recruiting. The intern will also serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries through the AskHR Help Desk, ensuring timely and accurate support. This internship provides real-world, hands-on experience in HR systems administration, configuration, and direct employee assistance, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of HR operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Implementation: Prepare and validate data for migration, participate in testing cycles, contribute to documentation, and help develop training materials for SuccessFactors.
• Employee Support: Serve as the first responder for employee inquiries via the AskHR Help Desk, accurately triaging, resolving, or routing cases to appropriate HR team members.
• Data Management: Perform data entry, auditing, and routine maintenance to ensure people data is accurate and complete within HR systems.
• Reporting & Documentation: Create and update process documentation and knowledge-base articles, and generate reports, dashboards, or data extracts to support HR initiatives.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing processes, improving system usability, or streamlining data workflows within HR technology.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field, having completed at least two years of coursework. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
• Experience: A strong interest in HRIS and HR technology is essential, combined with an eagerness to learn new systems and processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving within an HR technology context.
• Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills are required, along with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is also necessary.
• Bonus: Previous experience with HRIS systems or specifically with SAP SuccessFactors is a valuable plus, though not a requirement for the role.
