Job Description: HR Intern
This is an opportunity to gain practical experience within a fast-paced HR environment, specifically within a growing beauty brand that emphasizes people and wellness. The role is designed to expose the intern to the operational aspects of a small HR department.
Summary of the Role:
The HR Intern will be a key partner in day-to-day HR tasks. This includes participating in the design and implementation of new and existing HR processes, providing support for onboarding and offboarding activities as needed, and assisting with employee engagement initiatives to cultivate a positive work environment. The role requires a proactive individual willing to manage critical administrative duties and handle impromptu assignments that support the broader goals of the ELEMIS HR team. The intern will also have the chance to enhance communication skills through collaboration with employees and managers across the organization.
Work Details:
• Schedule: Fully in-person for 20 hours/week.
• Compensation: $19/hour for Bachelor’s students/grads; $21/hour for Master’s students/grads.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Intern Program Support:
• Assist in organizing and preparing meetings and events for the intern program.
• Communicate with managers and supervisors to coordinate intern schedules and activities.
• Provide administrative support, including maintaining intern records, preparing materials, and handling logistics.
• Participate in the onboarding and orientation process for new interns.
• Social Committee Support:
• Collaborate with the Social Committee to plan and execute employee engagement events and activities.
• Schedule and coordinate logistics for various social events and employee activities.
• Develop creative and engaging events that promote a positive workplace culture.
• Create and distribute surveys to gather employee feedback on engagement initiatives.
• HR Administrative Support:
• Assist with general HR administrative tasks, including maintaining and organizing employee files and records.
• Support the HR team with data entry, document preparation, and filing.
• Help in the preparation of HR reports and presentations.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Sustainability Responsibility:
• Ensure all duties carried out and actions completed contribute to the short and long-term Sustainability Goals set forth by the ELEMIS – Climate, Biodiversity & People Pillars.
Qualifications & Characteristics:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Curiosity regarding human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Open to learning by increasing personal efficiency, initiating courses of action, and willingly taking on new responsibilities.
• Interest in providing an excellent employee experience and enhancing company culture.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance, with an understanding of the importance of confidential information and activities.
• Ability to adjust to work processes or procedures, adapt to others, and work effectively and positively under pressure or in ambiguous situations.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
• Keen interest in the Beauty industry.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
