Job Description
This position is focused on managing the non-nursing functions within assigned unit(s) to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service.
Core Responsibilities & Objectives:
• Planning, organizing, and implementing all non-nursing activities on assigned unit(s).
• Facilitating workflow and enhancing unit productivity.
• Providing excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Promoting efficient unit function and contributing to indirect resident care.
Key Duties include:
• Performing clerical and reception duties.
• Requisitioning supplies, equipment, and services as directed.
• Assisting with scheduling.
• Potentially being assigned to observe telemetry monitors, and notifying the patient’s caregiver of any changes observed.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience or training in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Prior experience as a health unit coordinator, medical secretary, or medical receptionist is highly preferred.
Education & Certifications:
• Education: No specific educational requirement is stated for this position.
• Licensure/Certification: For the West Market, specifically the Fosston location only, current CPR (BLS) certification is required, or must be obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained thereafter. *Note: While the job is in Deer River, this specific requirement is listed under the general licensure/certification qualifications.•
Work Environment & Schedule:
• Job Location: Essentia Deer River Hospital.
• Shift Rotation: Day Rotation.
• Shift Start/End: Variable.
• Hours Per Pay Period: 48 hours.
• Union Affiliation: Deer River SEIU (DRH SEIU).
• FTE: 0.6 (Full-Time Equivalent).
• Weekends: Rotation required.
