Growth & Operations Associate | Zinda Operating Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Zinda Operating Group, located in Austin. Zinda is a management services organization that provides essential business operations support—including finance, technology, administration, and operations—to law firms across the United States. This role is a foundational, rotational position within Zinda, designed to cultivate future business leaders by exposing them to diverse functional areas and challenging business problems within the legal services industry. It offers a proving ground for early-career professionals to take on significant ownership and contribute to the scalable infrastructure enabling client success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Functional Rotation: Rotate across functions including marketing, People/HR, finance, operations, project management, events, SEO, and digital work as business needs require.
• New Business Initiatives: Take on new business initiatives as Zinda creates or acquires new ventures, with opportunities for major responsibility for top performers.
• Project Ownership: Own projects end-to-end, utilizing AI tools by default to enhance speed and quality of work.
• Cohort Leadership: Step into a Cohort Lead role on a rotating basis (every 1–2 weeks) to manage daily execution checks, track commitments, catch dropped work, and report status.
• Essential Tasks: Perform unglamorous, tedious, or low-status tasks that are necessary for the team’s success.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level to early-career professionals with 0-5 years of professional experience are sought. Candidates should come from demanding environments such as startups, consulting, finance, or technology, and be ready for substantial ownership. The ideal candidate possesses strong quantitative thinking abilities combined with excellent writing and ideation skills.
• Experience: Demonstrated achievement of something objectively difficult or unusual, whether academic, professional, entrepreneurial, or project-based, is essential. Candidates must provide examples of taking responsibility and ownership without constant supervision, as well as instances of performing low-status, tedious, or unpleasant work when necessary to complete a task.
• Skills: Exceptional written communication skills are critical and will be rigorously tested. A natural proficiency in using AI tools to solve problems, making it a default approach rather than an afterthought, is required. The ability to own projects end-to-end, coupled with a high degree of flexibility to rotate across varied functions, is also paramount.
• Bonus: A strong positive is an intellectual range demonstrated by a background combining hard science, engineering, or mathematics with a philosophy, English, literature, or another writing-heavy field.
