About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Graduate Research Intern, Mathematics to join our innovative team focused on the development and refinement of cutting-edge AI models. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in advancing the capabilities of AI chatbots by meticulously training, evaluating, and improving their mathematical reasoning. Your primary objectives will include measuring their progress, critically assessing their logical coherence, and actively contributing to problem-solving initiatives aimed at significantly enhancing the overall quality and performance of each model.

This position demands an expert level of mathematical reasoning. Candidates with strong backgrounds in related fields such as Applied Mathematics and/or Computer Science are also highly encouraged to apply, provided they demonstrate exceptional mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing and Administering Complex Mathematical Problems: You will be responsible for creating and delivering a diverse range of challenging and intricate mathematics problems to AI chatbots, pushing the boundaries of their current capabilities and evaluating their response mechanisms.
Thorough Output Evaluation: Meticulously evaluate the outputs generated by AI models, scrutinizing their solutions for accuracy, logical coherence, step-by-step correctness, and overall performance.
Quality Assurance and Performance Assessment: Systematically assess the quality produced by AI models for both correctness in their mathematical reasoning and their overall performance across various problem types and complexities.
Problem Identification and Improvement: Identify areas of weakness in AI models’ mathematical understanding and contribute to strategies for their improvement.

Qualifications:

Exceptional Mathematical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise and robust proficiency across a broad spectrum of mathematical disciplines, including but not limited to arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, probability, statistics, and both inductive and deductive reasoning.
Educational Background: A Master’s and/or PhD degree (current, in progress, or completed) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field is highly preferred, though not strictly required for candidates demonstrating exceptional skills and relevant experience.
Language Fluency: Native or bilingual fluency in English is essential for clear communication, precise evaluation, and accurate problem articulation.
