The Tone:
This is an on-site role at Applicantz, located in Houston, TX, operating Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Applicantz is seeking an Associate Accountant to support its external reporting functions, providing a critical service in the preparation and filing of public financial disclosures. This position is vital for maintaining compliance with SEC requirements and U.S. GAAP, offering an invaluable opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in public company financial reporting and technical accounting intricacies. What You’ll Actually Do
• SEC Filings: Support the comprehensive preparation and meticulous filing of critical SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
• External Communications: Aid in the structured development and accurate presentation of earnings releases, alongside other various external reporting requirements for public disclosure.
• Reporting Accuracy: Collaborate proactively with the dedicated External Reporting team to consistently ensure the timely delivery and accuracy of all financial reporting outputs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage cross-functionally and collaboratively with diverse internal departments, including Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting teams, fostering integrated financial processes.
• Disclosure Support: Contribute actively to the preparation and rigorous review of detailed financial statement disclosures and their underlying supporting documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level accounting professional, ideally a recent accounting graduate, possessing a foundational degree in accounting.
• Experience: No specific prior years of professional experience are strictly required for this role, making it ideal for individuals early in their accounting career.
• Skills: Demonstrated basic understanding of U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and comprehensive financial statements; strong analytical capabilities for data interpretation; excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks; and effective communication skills for collaborating with various stakeholders.
• Bonus: A strong, demonstrated interest in the specialized fields of financial reporting, SEC compliance, and technical accounting principles; along with the proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders within a corporate environment.
