The Tone:
This is an on-site role at Applicantz, located in Houston, TX, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The company is seeking an Associate Accountant to contribute directly to its external financial reporting and SEC filing processes. This position is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely disclosure of financial information to the public and regulatory bodies, offering valuable experience in public company financial reporting, SEC compliance, U.S. GAAP, and financial statement disclosures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• SEC Filings: Assist with the comprehensive preparation and timely filing of various SEC reports, including crucial Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K.
• External Reporting: Support the development and preparation of earnings releases and other essential external reporting requirements to meet public disclosure standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dedicated External Reporting team to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and timeliness in all financial reporting activities.
• Cross-functional Engagement: Collaborate across departments with key teams such as Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to gather necessary information.
• Disclosure Documentation: Aid in the meticulous preparation and thorough review of financial statement disclosures and their corresponding supporting documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent accounting graduate or an early-career accounting professional with a foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statements.
• Experience: Early career stage or recent graduation in an accounting field, ready to gain hands-on participation in external reporting processes.
• Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex financial data; effective communication abilities; demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a corporate environment.
• Bonus: A strong interest in financial reporting, SEC compliance, and technical accounting principles is highly valued.
