Graduate Nurse / Nurse Residency Program | Henry Ford Health

This program is designed to support novice nurses in their transition from entry-level advanced beginner to a competent professional, ensuring the delivery of safe, quality patient care within a collaborative healthcare environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transition: Assist in developing from an entry-level advanced beginner to a competent professional nurse over a twelve-month program.
• Develop: Participate in the progressive development of critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills with academic and clinical faculty.
• Care: Deliver safe, quality care within a collaborative interprofessional healthcare team environment.
• Interpret: Function within established guidelines and interpret the philosophy and goals of Henry Ford Health to others in the work setting.
• Improve: Engage in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals to promote optimum patient outcomes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with less than six (6) months of experience in a related area of nursing practice. Must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire, completing it within 5 years. Ability to successfully pass NCLEX-RN and hold an active, unrestricted RN license within 60 days of hire.
• Experience: Less than six (6) months of experience in a related area of nursing practice.
• Skills: Critical thinking, clinical reasoning, development of therapeutic relationships, delivery of safe and quality patient care, and problem-solving for patient outcomes.
• Bonus: BLS Health care provider certification is preferred and must be successfully completed within orientation.
