The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Advance Auto Parts, located in Vicksburg, MS. Advance Auto Parts is a major retailer providing automotive aftermarket parts, focused on helping customers succeed and growing the business with integrity. This General Manager position is critical for inspiring the store team, driving professional and DIY customer satisfaction, and achieving key financial and operational goals. This role involves significant commitment, requiring a minimum of 50-55 hours per week, including rotating nights and weekends.

• Team: Manages a team of 10-20 Team Members, with potential support to District/Region leadership.
• Mission: Inspire the store team, ensure customer success, and grow the business with integrity by achieving sales and service objectives.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, POS and Parts lookup systems, inventory systems, testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Sales & Service Leadership: Drive overall store sales goals and service objectives to ensure consistent performance and customer satisfaction.
• Professional Customer Management: Cultivate and expand relationships with Professional Customers, including building and holding the team accountable to execute customer action plans.
• Team Leadership & Development: Oversee the selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling, and engagement of all store Team Members.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure the precise execution of all inventory and operational standards within the store, maintaining high levels of efficiency and compliance.
• Store Oversight: Manage daily store responsibilities as the manager on duty, including team coaching, floor and phone management, task assignment and completion, safety protocols, and open/close duties.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager with a high school diploma or GED; a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred. Requires a working understanding of automotive systems, parts knowledge, and store operational systems.
• Experience: 2-3 years managing a team of 10-20 in a retail environment, with proven financial and business acumen and successful experience managing profitability.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, build strong customer and peer relationships, and utilize Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to calculate figures, analyze business reports like P&L statements, and hold others accountable while providing inspiring feedback.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area, Spanish language proficiency, Microsoft PowerPoint skills, and ASE certification.
