The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a top Real Estate Asset Manager, located in downtown Chicago on a hybrid basis. The company is experiencing significant growth and is expanding its team, creating an opportunity for a dedicated Fund Accountant. This role is fundamental to the financial operations of their real estate funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a key part in the financial reporting, analysis, and overall support of the firm’s diverse real estate assets, directly contributing to the client’s service excellence and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Management: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes.
• Performance Analysis: Calculate, interpret, and communicate financial performance returns.
• Financial Review: Complete monthly financial analysis and review property manager (and joint venture partner) financial statements.
• Cash Operations: Handle cash management transactions and tracking.
• Audit & Tax Support: Support reporting requirements, year-end audit, and tax processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience, demonstrating a solid grasp of technical accounting concepts.
• Skills: Strong Excel/MS Office proficiency; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate with self-review.
• Bonus: CPA preferred (or willingness to pursue).
