SkipQ is a deep-tech startup in travel retail revolutionizing the airport shopping experience. We’re building an Amazon-like marketplace merging all services and vendors at airports globally on a single mobile platform. Our mission is to provide travelers with a seamless, personalized shopping experience powered by machine learning, real-time price comparison, and AI-driven consumer behavior prediction.

The Opportunity

Join our founding team as a Full-Stack Engineer (Unpaid Internship) and contribute to building the future of travel retail technology. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with experienced founders who have over 25 years of innovation in travel technology, e-commerce, and AI-powered platforms.

Position Details

• Duration: 6 months
• Commitment: Part-time (Full-time preferred)
• Location: Remote
• Compensation: Unpaid, but packed with portfolio-building opportunities and direct mentorship from C-level executives.
• Start Date: Immediate

What You’ll Work On (Deliverables)

• Develop and maintain serverless backend architecture on AWS
• Build responsive, dynamic frontend features using React.js
• Work on our B2B platform serving concessionaires, airports, and service providers
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
• Contribute to the company’s landing page development
• Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect UI components
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with the founding team

Required Skills

• JavaScript/TypeScript: Strong proficiency in modern JS/TS
• React.js: Experience building component-based applications
• Node.js: Backend development experience
• Web Fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design
• Version Control: Git/GitHub
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Testing: Jest, React Testing Library

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• AWS Services: Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFormation
• Serverless Framework: Experience with serverless architectures
• State Management: Redux, Context API, or similar
• API Development: RESTful API design and implementation
• CI/CD: Understanding of deployment pipelines
