Fueler Service Technician / Fuel Island Attendant | Ryder

The Tone:
This is a permanent full-time role at Ryder, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ryder is a leader in logistics and fleet management, providing essential services to keep commercial vehicles operational. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness of the fleet by managing fueling, performing essential vehicle inspections, and maintaining the service island, directly contributing to efficient logistics operations.

• Pay: $22.02 hourly
• Mission: Ensure the continuous operational readiness of Ryder’s fleet through efficient fueling, diligent inspections, and meticulous maintenance of vehicles and the fuel island.
• Tech Stack: Computer hardware and software, word processing, spreadsheets, email.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Fueling: Fuel vehicles, record fuel activity, and maintain proper fuel and DEF inventories and reconciliation.
• Maintenance: Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units, check tire pressure, report service issues, change tires, and inspect refrigeration units on trucks.
• Vehicle Movement: Move heavy duty vehicles as required.
• Cleanliness: Wash and detail vehicles, maintain the fuel island area to Six Sigma standards, and empty trash.
• Facility Support: Perform minor facility maintenance tasks as assigned by a supervisor.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, supporting fleet maintenance operations. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: No experience is required; up to one year of experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in English written and verbal communication, demonstrated customer service skills, basic computer skills with data entry ability, and a high degree of thoroughness and dependability.
• Bonus: A high school diploma or GED equivalent, up to one year of experience, and a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A are preferred qualifications. The ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire is required for this DOT Safety Regulated position.
