Analyst – Financial Training Program | Howmet Aerospace

The Tone:
This is a 24-month rotational training program within Howmet Aerospace, requiring geographical mobility across corporate and manufacturing plant environments. Howmet Aerospace is a global provider of advanced engineered solutions, primarily focusing on jet engine components, aerospace fastening systems, titanium structural parts, and forged wheels for the aerospace and transportation industries. This program is designed to develop well-rounded financial professionals who will contribute to enabling fuel efficiency and lightweighting, directly impacting customer success and fostering a positive global impact.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to the Controller of a manufacturing facility.
• Mission: Develop well-rounded financial professionals ready for increasingly challenging assignments through broad exposure to company operations, financial systems, and problem-solving approaches.
• Tech Stack: Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, querying databases

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare monthly financial forecasts and weekly updates to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze: Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends and inform management.
• Report: Compile comprehensive monthly and quarterly reporting packages for senior management.
• Manage Close: Conduct month-end closing and reporting activities, including account reconciliations and coordination with other locations.
• Support Projects: Provide capital appropriation support and perform financial analysis for special projects as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional with a B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Skills: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, clear and concise written and oral communication, strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.
• Bonus: Self-starter with experience in querying databases and cost accounting.
