Front Line Manager | CarMax

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at CarMax, located in Murrieta, CA. CarMax is the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, committed to rethinking the way people buy cars through transparency and integrity. This role is crucial in preparing individuals to manage operational processes and lead high-performing teams within Service Operations, directly impacting the company’s commitment to customer experience and efficiency. The position offers a structured development program to equip leaders with the necessary tools and knowledge to drive performance and uphold company values.

• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person, Murrieta, CA
• Pay: $65400–$114600 yearly
• Team: Service Operations department, preparing for various leadership roles including Flow Mechanical, Flow Cosmetic, Flow Supply, Inventory, or Service Manager.
• Mission: To lead operational processes and high-performing teams within CarMax’s Service Operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance in vehicle production and repair.
• Tech Stack: Common and proprietary software systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training Comprehension: Demonstrate understanding of all training content throughout the six-week development program.
• Operational Execution: Support the execution of store procedures and operational processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Leadership Application: Complete CarMax’s Management Development Program and apply leadership principles in real-world scenarios.
• Quality & Production: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and meet production goals.
• Safety Management: Manage the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program for your department and/or location.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager career level, with training in Service Operations roles, end-to-end production processes, inventory management, and cosmetic/mechanical repair.
• Experience: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively to achieve operational goals, along with demonstrated capability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding environment.
• Skills: Strong data interpretation and record accuracy skills for process compliance, excellent verbal and written communication, and proficiency in common and proprietary software systems.
• Bonus: 3+ years of management experience.
