Front Desk Clerk – Whistling Straits | Kohler Co.

This is a part-time, seasonal role at Kohler Co., located in Kohler, WI. As a Front Desk Clerk at Whistling Straits, you will be the welcoming face and voice for guests. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth, positive, and enjoyable experience for all visitors to our renowned golf course, from their initial contact to their departure.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guest Experience: Greet all guests, both in person and over the phone, providing excellent customer service. Answer general inquiries about our golf courses and offer comprehensive information regarding all hospitality businesses within Kohler, ensuring a welcoming and informative start to their visit.
• Reservation Management: Proficiently operate and thoroughly understand all functions of the POS (Point of Sale) and TTS (Tee Time Scheduling) systems. This includes managing confirmation details, ensuring reservation accuracy, facilitating guest check-ins, and maintaining precise records within these systems.
• Financial Handling: Execute all necessary cash transactions, including balancing and depositing cash, and accurately recording these transactions. Additionally, perform daily reconciliation of caddies in collaboration with CME (Caddie Master Enterprises) to maintain financial integrity.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure the golf shop, front desk, and all public areas are consistently kept neat, orderly, and well-stocked with general information displays. You will also execute established procedures for opening and closing the golf shop and front desk area to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Administrative & Support: Efficiently manage all incoming phone calls, routing them to appropriate departments, taking detailed messages, and assisting customers with their needs. This role also involves assisting the Supervisor-Merchandising with inventory and sales, overseeing lost and found items, and helping with staff scheduling and training for Front Desk Clerk I, PGM Interns, and other seasonal staff.
The Must-Haves
• Background: No specific educational degree required; candidates must possess a strong foundation in customer service or hospitality principles, demonstrated through prior experience.
• Experience: Required previous experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality roles. This position also requires the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
• Skills: Friendly and professional customer service skills, exceptional ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, and comfort with standing for long periods.
• Bonus: Knowledge of the game of golf is preferred for this role at Whistling Straits.
