Forensics Accounting Internship – Spring 2027 | ATKG
The Tone
This is a Forensics Accounting Internship at ATKG, running for approximately two months from January 11 to March 12, 2027. This internship program introduces students to the world of public accounting, showcasing ATKG’s distinctive approach to tax, accounting, and advisory services. Interns will discover how their individual strengths can be applied to real client projects in a collaborative environment where work is designed to be engaging and fun.

• Mission: To actively support ATKG’s forensics accounting team by performing critical financial analysis, reporting, and research tasks, enabling the accurate and thorough preparation of client projects and legal submissions within the realm of tax, accounting, and advisory services.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Information Management: Schedule and organize basic financial information such as bank statements, tax returns, and comprehensive financial statements to support client assignments.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and meticulously review workpapers and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness for submission and internal records.
• Investigative Research: Conduct thorough research using specialized subscription tools and publicly available information to gather critical data relevant to ongoing cases.
• Forensic Analysis Support: Assist directly with valuation and forensic analyses, which includes interpreting financial statements and providing essential input for expert witness exhibits.
• Quality Assurance & Case Support: Take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of information and work product throughout all aspects of a client assignment, collaborating with the discovery team to reconcile documents and data for court, attorney, and client submissions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level accounting major currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
• Experience: Demonstrated completion of Intermediate Accounting I coursework.
• Skills: Proficiency in scheduling financial information, preparing and reviewing reports, conducting comprehensive research, and interpreting financial statements, alongside developing knowledge of relevant statutory and family codes applicable to forensic accounting principles.
• Bonus: A GPA of 3.2 or higher, or a well-articulated explanation for a lower GPA.
