Food Services Storeroom Clerk | Akron Children’s
The Tone:
This is a full-time, onsite role at Akron Children’s. As a dedicated children’s hospital, Akron Children’s provides essential healthcare services to its community. This role is fundamental to the Food Services department, ensuring the proper management and distribution of food, paper products, and cleaning supplies, which directly supports the daily operations and adherence to critical safety standards within the hospital.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm; rotating weekend 5am-1pm
• Location: In-person, Akron, OH
• Mission: This person ensures the accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of essential supplies, maintaining inventory records and supporting food safety for the Food Services department.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), department software systems, inventory control or supply chain systems
What You’ll Actually Do
• Receiving: Receive, inspect, and stock all incoming deliveries of food, paper goods, and cleaning supplies.
• Distribution: Accurately pick, issue, and deliver requested products to various internal departments.
• Maintenance: Maintain all storage areas in an organized and clean condition, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
• Inventory Management: Perform data entry and maintain precise inventory records using designated department software systems.
• Compliance Monitoring: Monitor expiration dates, product temperatures, and rotation of stock to ensure full compliance with food safety regulations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required; experience with inventory control or supply chain systems; ability to maintain organized and clean storage areas; understanding of food safety standards.
• Bonus: ServSafe certification is preferred; experience in food service or a healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., HACCP) is a plus.
