Float Phlebotomist | One Medical

The Tone:
This is a full-time Float Phlebotomist / Administrative Assistant role at One Medical, based in New York, NY, primarily at the Meatpacking W 14th St office, with coverage for other nearby locations. • Team: Supports multiple offices in a market, reporting to Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers.
• Mission: To deliver an exceptional in-office patient experience by providing crucial venipuncture and comprehensive administrative and clinical support.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver best-in-class venipuncture services for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, including extended scope duties like non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, and vitals.
• Ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, and managing billing and insurance inquiries.
• Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
• Perform all front-of-house duties, including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, and preparing tests according to service level expectations.
• Provide ongoing patient support by answering messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers with clerical duties such as biometric screening forms, medical record review, and DOH reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment, along with experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Skills: Strong customer service, written, and verbal communication skills; proficiency in computer technology including typing, internet navigation, and using multiple software systems simultaneously; proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process; a track record of persisting through change and learning quickly.
• Bonus: Additional experience with remote teams.
