Accountant, Fixed Assets | SEPHORA
The Tone:
This is a full-time, regular role at Sephora, located in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid work model. The Fixed Asset Accountant role is crucial for maintaining and supporting Sephora’s fixed asset accounting processes, directly impacting the accuracy of capital expenditures, asset tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting. This work helps ensure the business operates efficiently and precisely, contributing to a Finance team united in its commitment to operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Mission: Ensure accurate capital expenditure, asset tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting for Sephora’s fixed assets.
• Tech Stack: SAP/S4 Hana, Coupa, Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Allocation: Support Sephora’s CapEx fixed asset allocation process and maintain accuracy across fixed asset records and reporting.
• Entries: Assist with preparation and upload of journal entries related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.
• Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, project allocations, and asset location information.
• Close: Support monthly close activities and ensure timely completion of fixed asset accounting deliverables.
• Partnership: Partner with Purchasing and Business Planning & Analysis teams to support PO master data updates, approval workflows, and financial inquiries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field with a solid understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience: 3–4 years of accounting experience, with a preference for 2+ years of fixed asset accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills demonstrated by exceptional attention to detail; intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis functions; excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate collaboration across various teams; ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, work independently, and consistently meet tight deadlines; strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset for supporting internal partners with a customer-service approach; proven ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and responsibilities.
• Bonus: IFRS knowledge; experience working with SAP/S4 Hana and/or Coupa procurement systems.
