The Tone:
This is a full-time training role at, located in Kissimmee, FL. This position is a foundational step in preparing individuals to provide critical protective service work, encompassing both fire suppression and emergency medical services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in safeguarding the community by responding to emergencies and maintaining readiness for all incidents. This role is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of residents through dedicated public service.

The TL;DR

• Location: Kissimmee, FL
• Pay: $35921.6–$50494.08 yearly
• Mission: To train and develop into a fully qualified firefighter, providing essential protective and emergency medical services to the community.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Emergency Response: Respond to fire alarms and emergency medical calls, performing fire suppression, rescue, and first aid, and operating relevant apparatus.
• Operational Support: Perform salvage operations, overhaul work, and assist Paramedics with patient care, stabilization, and transfer.
• Equipment & Station Maintenance: Conduct general maintenance on fire apparatus, equipment, and station grounds, including minor repairs, washing, cleaning, and testing.
• Training & Development: Participate actively in company drills, scheduled in-service training exercises, and continuously update knowledge in job responsibilities.
• Community Protection: Conduct commercial fire prevention inspections and residential inspections under the supervision of a certified fire inspector.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school graduate or equivalent; at least 18 years of age; good moral character as determined by investigation; nonuser of tobacco or tobacco products for at least 1 year immediately preceding application.
• Experience: Current Florida Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic License; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuer, or an equivalent approved organization; a valid Class E Florida Driver License. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor directly related to the position, nor pled nolo contendere to any felony charge.
• Skills: Knowledge of firefighting techniques, fire prevention strategies, and emergency medical techniques and procedures; understanding of the street system and geography of the County; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, follow oral and written instructions, and prepare reports; mechanical aptitude for learning and operating complex emergency equipment; capacity to perform prolonged work under adverse conditions.
