Fiscal & Business Analyst I | University of South Florida

• Mission: Owns the accurate financial management, billing, and collections for clinical research sponsors, ensuring compliance and safeguarding university assets.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payment Reconciliation: Reconcile and apply payments in VELOS, understanding contractual budget allocations and payment milestones, and resolving data discrepancies with sponsors and coordinators.
• Sponsor Billing: Manage monthly sponsor billing by running reports, issuing invoices for contractual items, handling disputes, and coordinating amendments when necessary.
• Financial Compliance: Interpret and apply University, State, and Federal financial regulations to safeguard assets, and assist with managing the OCR Financial Management email box by independently answering inquiries.
• Accounts Receivable: Oversee accounts receivable and collections by regularly reviewing outstanding receivables in VELOS, contacting sponsors, and posting Dummy interfaces in FAST to maintain accuracy.
• Milestone Management: Set up and maintain admin calendars in VELOS for triggering receivables and payables based on contractual budgets, ensuring timely milestone achievement and compliance with study teams.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a directly related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in any field with relevant fiscal knowledge; or extensive fiscal related work experience.
• Experience: 0-2 years of fiscal related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field; or two years of fiscal related work experience with any Bachelor’s degree; or four years of fiscal related work experience.
• Skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, excellent customer service, knowledge of accounting, and reconciliation of multiple accounts.
