Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst | RaceTrac
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at RaceTrac, located in Atlanta, GA. RaceTrac operates four distinct divisions including RaceTrac, RaceWay, Energy Dispatch, and Gulf, contributing to its broad market presence. This position is vital for providing critical decision support through financial and situational analysis across the organization. The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will lead efforts in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial analysis to drive the company’s sustained growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Modeling: Develop financial models and comprehensive analyses to support RaceTrac’s most critical strategic initiatives and major investments.
• Planning Execution: Support the annual planning process by incorporating business initiatives, economic trends, and operational effectiveness to set goals and forecasts.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Execute various ad hoc data analyses, responding to business requests by examining revenues, expenses, and profitability across corporate divisions and the entire company.
• Reporting Insights: Analyze weekly and monthly financial reports, distributing them to executives and department heads, while providing explanations for abnormalities using trend data.
• Business Partnership: Serve as a business partner with various functional areas, driving additional profitability through focused forecasting and detailed analysis.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. This is an early career position focused on financial analysis.
• Experience: Requires 1-3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role. Candidates must have experience performing business analysis or financial/statistical data analysis, with a preference for experience within a retail environment.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential, coupled with a solid familiarity with fundamental finance concepts.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing Power BI and SQL is preferred for this role.
