Financial Operations Analyst | Herc Rentals

This role is crucial for supporting the company’s financial operations through accurate reporting, analysis, and strategic assistance. The position plays an active part in ensuring timely financial insights and continuous process improvement across various internal departments.

• Mission: Assist in monthly reporting and analysis, ad hoc reports, and forecasts/budget to support the company’s strategic goals and financial health.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist in monthly financial accounting, including journal entries and financial analysis, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results for regions and/or business units.
• Process Improvement: Review existing processes for continuous improvement, aiming to reduce nonvalue-added steps within financial operations.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, contributing to the company’s financial planning.
• Performance Analysis: Prepare variance analysis on revenue and expenses compared to forecast and budget, identifying key insights into financial performance.
• Strategic Support: Support the company’s strategic goals by assisting regions in driving performance, improving market share, and developing action plans for underperforming markets.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or an equivalent field.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience preferred, but not strictly required for this early career role.
• Skills: Strong financial acumen, accounting, and financial planning & analysis capabilities; Advanced skills and experience in MS Office Suite; Strong technical learning, analytical, and problem-solving skills; Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships across the organization.
• Bonus: CPA or MBA highly desirable; Experience with OneStream, Hyperion, or Oracle ERP.
