Relationship Manager- Origination & Coverage | Mashreq
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Mashreq, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Mashreq provides a comprehensive range of financial products, including Cash Management, Trade, Banknotes, Bullion, Investment Banking, and Treasury services. This position is vital for driving the bank’s expansion and revenue by strategically targeting and cultivating relationships with Indian Banks. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for increasing Mashreq’s product penetration and enhancing its financial contribution within a critical client segment.

• Team: Reports to and works closely with the Head of FI – India – Origination and Coverage.
• Mission: Target and manage a portfolio of Indian Banks to originate business and enhance Mashreq’s revenue across its suite of product offerings.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Target: Target an assigned portfolio of Indian Banks for Mashreq’s suite of product offerings including Cash Management, Trade, Banknotes, Bullion, Investment Banking (Syndicated Loan & DCM), and Treasury.
• Manage: Independently manage the assigned client portfolio across various product lines to ensure comprehensive coverage and service delivery.
• Implement: Implement business plans specifically tailored for Indian Banks, based on Mashreq’s strategy and identified growth initiatives.
• Originate: Enhance revenue and originate new business from both existing and targeted Indian Bank clients within the assigned portfolio.
• Engage: Actively engage with both clients and internal stakeholders to ensure successful origination, provide a high-quality client experience, and increase cross-sell penetration to broaden Mashreq’s share of the client wallet.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in managing and originating business, with their most recent role specifically focused on Financial Institution business.
• Experience: Proven experience in holding and nurturing relationships at middle and senior management levels within the target market of Financial Institutions, demonstrating a strong track record in business development.
• Skills: Possess sound skills and in-depth knowledge of trade finance, clearing operations, loan products, and foreign exchange products as they specifically relate to Financial Institutions. Strong sales, marketing, and negotiation capabilities are essential, along with a collaborative team player attitude.
• Bonus: A postgraduate degree in Management or a Professional Degree in Finance is highly preferred.
