This is a full-time hybrid Financial Analyst role at Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, with a flexible work arrangement requiring commutable access to Stamford, CT. What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Support month-end close processes and actuals reporting specifically for supply chain expenditures, encompassing accrual preparation, journal entry validation, account reconciliations, invoice coding, and overall results validation.
• Budget & Forecasting: Actively contribute to the comprehensive budget and forecast development for significant cost centers including warehousing, freight, excise taxes, inventory valuations, and standard costs.
• Performance Analysis: Develop and consistently maintain robust reporting mechanisms to monitor actual financial performance, meticulously analyze variances against established budgets, forecasts, and prior year results, and clearly articulate the underlying key business drivers.
• Data-Driven Insights: Manage and analyze extensive, complex data sets to proactively identify emerging trends, potential risks, and strategic opportunities, then effectively translate these detailed insights into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Collaborative Cost Management: Partner closely with cross-functional teams, particularly inventory and logistics planning, during the budget cycle to support the accurate creation and validation of standard costs, and assist with various ad hoc reporting requests and process improvement initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, with a strong understanding of accounting principles including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, supply chain finance, or a related analytical role, with experience working with large data sets and financial reporting systems such as Cognos or JDE.
• Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, including the ability to work efficiently with large data sets, lookup formulas, pivot tables, and detailed reporting files; strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) experience is preferred; must be an agile learner who can quickly understand new processes, systems, data sources, and business drivers; adept at managing multiple priorities and self-motivated in identifying improvement opportunities.
