Financial Analyst II | Wolverine Worldwide
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Wolverine Worldwide, with three days in office and two days remote, typically based in Rockford, MI. Wolverine Worldwide is a leading global designer, marketer, and licensor of footwear and apparel, with a diverse portfolio of brands spanning 170 countries. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy of financial reporting, supporting the monthly close process, and ensuring the financial integrity of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute Close: Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process, preparing journal entries, accruals, and detailed financial analyses.
• Manage Reserves & Accruals: Maintain ownership of key accounting areas including bad debt reserves, inventory reserves, various inventory cost accruals, bank reconciliations, salesperson sample accruals, prepaid adjustments, and other accounts payable-related estimates.
• Reconcile Accounts: Prepare and maintain accurate and complete account reconciliations in accordance with corporate policies.
• Provide Financial Insight: Partner with brand finance teams and corporate functions to resolve accounting issues and offer valuable financial insights.
• Participate in Projects: Actively participate in projects, working independently and collaboratively as a member of cross-functional teams.
• Ensure Compliance: Support internal control processes, including monthly and quarterly SOX compliance and certification activities, and assist with internal and external audits by responding to inquiries and providing required documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience, with a solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience: At least 2 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, specifically with accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, good communication and interpersonal skills, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Bonus: CPA certification and experience with SAP and BW are preferred.
