The Tone:
This is a hybrid Financial Analyst – FP&A role advertised by X-Factor Consulting for a client operating in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX (DFW) area. The position is essential for providing critical financial insights and robust analysis to guide executive decision-making and foster continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic initiatives, enhancing reporting capabilities, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information used across the organization.

• Mission: To focus on analytics, research, reporting, and upgrading capabilities through process improvement for finance leadership and business partners.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Guide CFO, finance leadership, and business partners with ad-hoc analyses, modeling, customer and contract evaluations, asset deployment analysis, pricing strategies, liquidity planning, and M&A scenarios.
• Develop accurate charts, tables, and supporting materials for monthly management reporting and quarterly presentations to senior executives.
• Lead and manage the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and capital expenditure outlook.
• Maintain and refine the integrated financial model along with its supporting schedules.
• Perform detailed variance analyses versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, highlighting performance trends for leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data analytics, or a closely related field. This role is suited for early-career professionals or recent graduates with outstanding analytical capability and achievement.
• Experience: Candidates should possess 1 to 5 years of relevant financial experience, acquired through full-time positions, internships, consulting engagements, projects, public accounting, or corporate finance roles.
• Skills: Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required, alongside strong attention to detail with an understanding of source data, formulas, and logic in financial recommendations. Quantitative skills, a working knowledge of accounting principles, and familiarity with financial statements are also essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information to senior leadership, are paramount.
• Bonus: Experience in equity research or similar fields is a plus, as is practical experience with Power BI, SQL, ERP systems, or advanced financial modeling tools.
