Financial Analyst I | Welty Energy

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office position at Welty Energy, located in Akron, OH. Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty Enterprises, is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, distribution engineering, substation engineering, and construction oversight on large-scale utility projects. The company manages approximately $500 million in construction projects for electric utilities in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. This role is crucial for enhancing financial planning, analysis, and reporting efforts, reinforcing client-centric practices, and driving process efficiencies to contribute to successful project execution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Planning: Lead the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial planning materials, including forecasts, accruals, and budget tracking, with minimal oversight.
• Improvements: Identify and support the implementation of process improvements and efficiencies within the financial management framework.
• Coordination: Independently coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy, transparency, and consistency of financial data across project lifecycles.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct QA/QC on financial deliverables, ensuring client systems are updated, and pay strong attention to detail in all deliverables.
• Meetings: Serve as a reliable contributor to board and committee meetings, assisting in the preparation of materials and attending when required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, mathematics, or related field.
• Experience: 2-4+ years of relevant financial analysis experience; familiarity with client-specific financial systems and databases, or ability to learn them quickly.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in financial planning, reporting, and analysis; strong communication and interpersonal skills; intermediate proficiency with Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables; a proactive, detail-oriented, and organized work style.
