Financial Analyst | Eaton

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Eaton, located in Jackson, MI. Eaton’s IS AER FED division supports the Aerospace Group’s Fluid & Electrical Distribution Division, manufacturing products for aerospace applications. This position is vital for providing comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and guidance to the Jackson, MI plant’s management team, ensuring robust financial control and strategic planning for the site.

• Mission: To ensure accurate financial reporting, provide insightful analysis, and support critical planning activities for the Jackson, MI manufacturing plant, maintaining financial control and compliance.
• Tech Stack: Oracle, Microsoft (advanced skills)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Perform comprehensive sales and margin reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis, providing insightful commentary to explain financial performance and offer accurate advice to the management team.
• Planning & Forecasting: Lead and support critical financial planning activities, including the development of annual profit plans and precise monthly forecasts.
• Accounting Operations: Execute all necessary accounting functions, troubleshoot system errors, and support process improvements to enhance financial controls.
• Cost & Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining precise standard and current cost systems and oversee physical inventory counts in adherence to Eaton Financial Policy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an accounting or finance role, inclusive of internships; must be a U.S. person due to export-controlled information.
• Skills: Expertise in performing all accounting functions, financial reporting, variance analysis, month-end closing, forecasting, departmental budget analysis, inventory reporting, cost analysis, problem-solving skills, and effective communication across functional lines.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in Business Administration, CPA and/or CMA certification, experience within the manufacturing industry and/or Aerospace industry, previous audit/internal controls/SOX experience, Oracle or other ERP experience along with advanced Microsoft skills, and Government Accounting and Reporting experience.
