Financial Analyst | SC&H

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at SC&H, located in Hunt Valley, MD. SC&H is an employee-owned, global consulting and financial services firm with over 430 professionals across multiple offices, dedicated to driving client results through trusted personal relationships and expert capabilities. In this role, the Financial Analyst will directly partner with clients to identify crucial opportunities for improvement, effectively mitigate business risks, and deliver actionable insights that significantly enhance profitability and operational effectiveness. Your contributions will be central to helping clients make informed strategic decisions and achieve their financial goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
Client Partnership: Collaborate directly with clients to thoroughly understand their contract risks and the overall objectives of each audit engagement.
Documentation Review: Request and meticulously review various forms of documentation from suppliers to ensure their compliance with contractual terms and established standards.
Reporting: Create and deliver comprehensive supplier audit reports that clearly present factual findings, empowering clients to make well-informed business decisions.
Negotiation Support: Provide assistance in supplier negotiations, aiming to secure refunds, offer strategic contract recommendations, propose process improvements, and provide valuable benchmarking insights.
Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, positive, and professional relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional holding a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, financial analysis, or related business functions, specifically including experience analyzing large data sets and translating those findings into actionable recommendations.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exceptional verbal communication, presentation, and business writing skills; excellent analytical, organizational, and project management abilities; capability to quickly understand and evaluate complex business and financial processes; comfort in thinking critically and working independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Bonus: Prior experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau; hands-on experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; progress toward or a stated interest in pursuing professional certifications like CPA, CFA, CMA, or an MBA; and experience supporting cross-functional business initiatives and strategic planning efforts.
