Accounting Intern | Winsupply
The Tone:
This is an internship at Winsupply, located in Moraine, OH. Winsupply is dedicated to creating and enabling entrepreneurs, empowering them to achieve their dreams through wholesale distribution. The company comprises over 670 locally-owned businesses spanning various industries, including HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical. This role is critical within the support services campus, which aims to eliminate obstacles and provide essential support to these entrepreneurs. The Accounting Intern will contribute significantly to the organization by assisting through finance and accounting operations, helping to drive solutions and long-term success for both the local companies and Winsupply as a whole.

• Mission: To support monthly and annual financial reporting, general ledger management, and accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial statements and year-end reports for local companies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Guidance: Act as a financial advisor and controller for individual companies, providing expert guidance on financial matters and assisting with the quarterly dividend process by advising on appropriate dividend payments with supporting data and analytics.
• Reporting & Analysis: Manage the critical month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for 70-110 companies within a two-business-day window. Additionally, prepare and analyze complex financial statements for 80-120 companies, partnering with local company Presidents and Winsupply management to review performance.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate effectively with outside auditors on various accounting projects and related topics. This includes preparing and maintaining year-end audit work papers and actively assisting in audit activities, all while supporting and maintaining a strong internal control environment.
• Reconciliation & Management: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. Furthermore, ensure OnBase GL account reconciliations are completed and updated monthly, and maintain the Real Estate Management System with accurate lease obligations, including taxes, CAM, and insurance.
• Project Support: Assist with corporate accounting and related projects, which may involve acquisition accounting for Non-Wise Companies. The intern will also lead initiatives on new accounting changes, standards, and implementations within the team, collaborating with FAAST personnel on ongoing trends.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a university or college degree program (undergraduate or master’s) with a solid foundation in accounting principles.
• Experience: Eligibility includes current university/college students or individuals who have completed one semester post-graduation.
• Skills: Accounting principles, financial analysis, general ledger management, data analysis, and internal control knowledge.
• Bonus: Grade level junior or higher.
