The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Microchip Technology, located in Neckarbischofsheim or Heilbronn (hybrid setup possible). Microchip designs the technology that powers the world around us, specifically developing and manufacturing high-precision quartz crystals and oscillators used in telecommunications, test and measurement, medical, and radar systems. This role is crucial for supporting the financial operations of Microchip Frequency Technology GmbH, ensuring accurate financial reporting under both US GAAP and German GAAP (HGB), and maintaining robust internal controls. You will be a key contributor to the Finance organization, providing high-quality financial data and analysis to support the company’s financial objectives.

• Mission: Owns core accounting, cost accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and support company objectives.
• Tech Stack: Infor LN, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Excel.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close & Operational Accounting: Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities under US GAAP and HGB, maintain general ledger integrity, perform reconciliations, and ensure timely accounting of business transactions.
• Tax & Compliance: Prepare and support VAT reporting and related tax compliance activities, manage German statistical reporting requirements, and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
• Fixed Asset Accounting: Manage the fixed asset register, process asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Local Finance Support: Ensure compliant handling of travel and expense processes, support company car administration, and act as a local finance contact for accounting-related inquiries.
• Audit & Reporting: Support internal and external audits, including statutory HGB audits, prepare and maintain supporting documentation, and contribute to financial reporting packages.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter).
• Experience: Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, cost accounting, or a related finance function, preferably in a multinational environment, with experience in monthly and annual financial closing processes.
• Skills: Good knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and familiarity with US GAAP principles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, very good German and English language skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, ability to meet deadlines, effective communication and collaboration.
• Bonus: Knowledge of VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements, experience with ERP systems (Infor LN, SAP, or similar systems, Microsoft Dynamics), experience supporting audits and working with auditors, practical experience applying AI tools in a business environment.
