This is an internship opportunity for a Finance Rotation Program (FRP) Financial Analyst Intern at Microsoft Corporation.

Overview
The FRP Financial Analyst Intern position offers a unique chance for students to learn financial analysis from seasoned professionals within Microsoft’s dynamic high-tech environment. Interns will engage with best-in-class financial tools, including the latest AI-powered productivity tools, to solve real-world problems. The internship provides exposure to various areas within Microsoft Finance, such as Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Treasury, Capital Markets, Sales and Marketing Finance, Accounting, or finance roles within specific product groups like Office or Xbox.

This internship serves as the primary pathway into the early career Finance Rotation Program (FRP) at Microsoft. Successful Financial Analyst Interns will be considered for admission into the full-time FRP upon completing their degree. Interns at Microsoft work on meaningful projects, collaborating with teams globally, and are encouraged to build community, explore their passions, and achieve their goals.

The internship is located in Redmond, Washington, and will be an onsite experience during the summer of 2026.

Responsibilities
As an FRP Financial Analyst Intern, responsibilities will include:
• Applying financial acumen and contributing to the analysis of current and future financial performance across various products, segments, key performance indicators (KPIs), or other business units, with guidance from team members.
• Learning about and assisting in the execution of forward-looking analyses, completing preliminary analyses to support forecast cycles as needed, under team oversight.
• Responding to ad-hoc requests from team members and peers by identifying critical information and analyzing financial data to aid decision-making.
• Understanding and supporting financial processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
• Learning about and proposing recommendations for improving existing methods for data collection and report creation. Understanding how advanced technology, including AI, is leveraged within Finance and across Microsoft for deeper analysis.
• Learning about and ensuring compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of financial documents and business processes, with oversight from team members.
• Embodying Microsoft’s culture and values.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
• Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including pivot tables, Macros, VBA, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to one or all of the following:
• Conducting analysis in tools such as Power BI/Tableau (or other data visualization tools), SQL/R/Python (or other programming/data science languages).
• Understanding of fundamental finance and accounting acumen, including data modeling, data analytics, FP&A, forecasting, interpreting financial statements, and reporting.
• Incorporating AI into daily work to enhance efficiency and quality.

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this internship is USD $24.23 – $37.92 per hour. For specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $33.46 – $43.46 per hour.
