The Tone:
This is a 10-week summer 2027 internship at Nassau Financial Group, located in Hartford, CT. Nassau Financial Group is a growth-focused, digitally enabled financial services company with an integrated platform across insurance and asset management. This program prepares college students for careers in the cutting edge of insurance and asset management, offering hands-on experience and building relationships with future talent. The role offers multiple opportunities to learn about specific fields within finance while gaining valuable work experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist in quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial reporting and analysis, including preparing entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
• Financial Planning: Support quarterly reporting and reforecasts for senior leadership, helping analyze key business drivers and expense management.
• Audit Exposure: Gain understanding of internal audit processes, risks, and controls, supporting testing procedures and documentation.
• Investment & Treasury Support: Contribute to investment accounting, strategic planning, and treasury activities with a focus on liquidity management and financial models.
• Data & System Utilization: Learn to utilize various financial systems and tools to extract, analyze, and interpret data for ad hoc projects and process improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required, focused on college students currently pursuing a relevant degree.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong technology skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Peoplesoft, Visio, MS Office, MS Access), detail-oriented, solid decision-making skills.
• Bonus: Knowledge of insurance and financial markets, ability to identify and evaluate potential issues or improvement opportunities.
