Job Description: Finance Internship
Overview:
CSX offers a 10-week internship program within its Finance Department, providing a comprehensive immersion into the company’s methods and culture. Interns engage in challenging real-world assignments, working collaboratively with leaders across the organization to enhance decision-making and financial performance. This internship provides invaluable experience for aspiring corporate finance professionals, while simultaneously allowing CSX to identify and recruit top talent for the future.
Responsibilities:
Interns play a crucial role in completing identified finance projects, gaining insights into the day-to-day responsibilities of a finance professional. These projects encompass:
• Collaboration with Internal Business Partners: Analyzing marketing, operating, and capital projects, understanding economic tradeoffs, and contributing to real-time business decisions.
• Analytical Support: Providing data-driven support for operations reviews, resource allocation, and financial valuations.
• Forecasting and Strategy: Guiding the development of short- and long-term forecasts, plans, and strategies.
• Financial Modeling: Creating and utilizing financial models to quantify benefits and drive sound economic decisions.
• Communication and Consulting: Presenting analyses to senior management within the department and collaborating with business partners from other departments.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 18 years of age
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
Knowledge and Skills:
• Academic distinction with a demonstrated interest/talent in finance or quantitative fields
• Proven leadership ability and initiative
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior-level audience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Successful completion of a background check and drug test
