Intern – Operational Finance | Turner Construction Company
The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Turner Construction Company, located in Boston, MA. Turner Construction is a leading general contractor focused on delivering a wide range of building projects. This role is crucial for providing essential financial services support to various profit centers, ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations, and contributing to the financial health of assigned construction projects.

• Team: Reports to Accounting Manager, Operational Finance; Accountant, Operational Finance; or Senior Accountant, Operational Finance
• Mission: Provide financial services support to profit centers by assisting with various accounting functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Billing: Assist accountants in ensuring that all client contractual requirements are met regarding billing and accounts receivables processes.
• Vendor Payments: Process accounts payable for vendor invoices, working to keep all assigned project accounts current and accurate.
• Subcontractor Invoices: Process accounts payable for subcontractor invoices, collaborating with accountants to confirm all necessary lien waivers, contracts, and insurance requirements are in place.
• Month-End Close: Provide support during the monthly close process, verifying that all client bills and project costs are properly posted or accrued for work completed and of material value.
• Audit Assistance: Help with preparing for and responding to all internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Degree in progress from an accredited 4-year college or university, with recommended majors including Accounting or Finance, and basic knowledge of finance acquired through at least one year of completed education.
• Experience: Basic computer data entry, database, and MS Office skills, including intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Must be willing to work a standard work week.
• Skills: Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including experience in student leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement; exceptional organizational skills with the ability to document and manage accurate and timely information; professional and clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently with some oversight, as well as in a team environment.
