FHA Multifamily Internship Program
Greystone’s Summer 2025 Internship Program is designed for rising seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics. This internship offers a unique opportunity to build a foundation for a career in commercial real estate by working alongside industry experts. Interns gain practical experience by actively participating in real projects and contributing to solving clients’ problems.
The Internship Program offers three different tracks:
Origination Intern
• Responsibilities:
• Perform valuation and cash flow analyses using diverse methodologies.
• Participate in the origination and execution of lending and debt transactions.
• Prepare presentation materials for client meetings.
• Engage in all stages of transaction executions, from initial pitch to closing.
• Conduct initial client outreach through cold calling/email marketing.
• Coordinate with deal team members across the company.
Production Intern
• Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Senior Underwriters and the Asset Management team.
• Analyze real estate financial data for multifamily or healthcare properties.
• Complete loan sizing, leveraging property financials and internal financial models.
• Research various markets, statistics, laws, and regulations.
• Draw conclusions based on aggregated information and prepare summary opinions.
• Attend meetings and build relationships with internal Greystone team members and external 3rd party vendors.
• Input property financial information into database systems and Excel workbooks.
Underwriting Intern
• Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Senior Management and the Sales Teams.
• Analyze commercial real estate financial data.
• Research various markets, statistics, laws, and regulations.
• Draw conclusions based on aggregated information and prepare summary opinions.
• Coordinate with underwriters, production team, and borrowers for collecting loan due diligence materials.
• Analyze rent rolls, operating history, etc., and input data into financial analysis spreadsheets.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics from an accredited college or university.
• Fundamental real estate knowledge through prior internships and coursework.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management skills and a respect for deadlines.
• Driven, innovative team player focused on results and delivering superior work product.
• Proven track record of success in prior academic or work experience.
• Unquestioned personal and professional integrity.
Compensation: Interns hired in NYC for summer 2024 will be compensated at $27/hour.
