Hourly Rate: $21.04 per hour

Summary of Position

Under the direction and guidance of the Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Technician is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of all airport facilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance repairs across various trades, including electrical, electronics, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, painting, metal fabrication, and carpentry.
  • Ensures the airfield lighting system is maintained in optimal condition.
  • Conducts electrical maintenance for hangars.
  • Responsible for policing and removing all debris, trash, and other foreign litter from airport property.
  • Operates equipment and utilizes hand tools safely in the execution of all duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Specialized trade training is preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to problem-solve independently or effectively seek assistance when needed.
  • Knowledge of general aviation property maintenance and procedures.
  • Skilled with aviation and ground base radio systems or similar equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Requires 24-hour/7-day on-call status.
  • Capable of working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat.
  • Possesses good visual acuity for working indoors under artificial lighting and outdoors in bright sunlight.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds, push, pull, climb, and walk for the majority of the day.
