About the Company

The Frisco Bowl, an ESPN Events Bowl Game, is a college football game held annually at Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. The bowl game is managed by BreakAway Sports Marketing, a media and public relations group specializing in sports and entertainment.

Job Description

The Frisco Bowl is seeking Events Interns to assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of events and activities during Bowl Week (December 11-17, 2024). Interns will report directly to the Executive Director and gain valuable experience with a professional organization in the sports and entertainment industry.

Responsibilities include:

Event Management:
• Assisting with the management of all event logistics, including entertainment, catering, décor, signage, audio/visual, gifts, volunteers, guest services, and events.
• Planning and executing all events during Bowl Week.
• Providing support for team host hotels, including room planning & logistics, meeting spaces, players lounges, and hospitality lounges.
• Developing and executing hosting and management plans for Player Lounges and Coaches Hospitality Lounges.
• Developing and directing events such as Player Gift Suite, Joint Team Event, Kids Day Out, Ladies Day Out, Joint Team Dinner, Charity Visits, VIP Reception, and Pregame Party.
• Managing inventory of promotional giveaway items and player gift packages.
• Assisting with photography and social media needs (for those with skills in these areas).
• Assisting with operational needs on game day (both on-field and in press box).

Qualifications:

• Active college student pursuing a degree and/or career in Sports Management or Event Planning.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Organized, resourceful, and passionate about sports.
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude.
• Capable of coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and working under pressure.
• Willing to work long days and late-night hours during Bowl Week.

Note: This internship is unpaid and will require some nights and weekends.
