What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Sector Coverage: Act as the lead analyst for the Consumer Retail (softlines) sector within a large, collaborative US-focused long/short equity platform.
• Generate Ideas: Own the entire idea generation process from initial research through to portfolio implementation.
• Maintain Autonomy: Work closely with senior PMs while maintaining clear autonomy over sector coverage and research.
• Develop Views: Develop differentiated, fundamental views across cyclicals, structural growers, and event-driven opportunities within the coverage area.
• Contribute Expertise: Operate as the primary sector expert within a broader team environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep understanding of one or multiple Consumer Retail (softlines) sub-sectors, including Apparel & Footwear, Luxury Goods, Accessories, Department Stores, Off-Price Retail, Specialty Softlines Retail, or E-Commerce Softlines.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of buyside equity research experience, with proven ability to generate actionable long and short ideas.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling capabilities, ability to develop variant perception, and a risk-aware mindset.
• Bonus: Strong preference for candidates with prior long/short investing exposure.
